Amazon.com Inc. said Oct. 18 it will open a new corporate office in Manchester in 2019 and increase the capacity of two of its development centers in the U.K.

The expansion is expected to add over 1,000 new roles in the country.

The corporate office, spanning 90,000 square feet, will create 600 new corporate and research and development jobs in the city.

Amazon will also invest in its Cambridge Development Centre, creating capacity for an additional 180 new roles. The company will also expand its development center in Scotland, creating additional 250 roles.
