Sony makes key management changes

Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corp. announced several changes to its executive personnel, all effective April 1.

Hiroshi Kawano has been named representative director and deputy president of subsidiary Sony Imaging Products & Solutions Inc. He will continue as Sony Marketing Inc.'s representative director and president as well as Sony Marketing Japan Inc.'s corporate executive and president.

Terushi Shimizu was appointed Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp.'s representative director and president. He will continue to serve as representative director and president of Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corp.

Hirokazu Takagaki was appointed representative director and president of Sony Network Communications Inc. and will continue to serve as Sony Mobile Communications Japan Inc.'s representative director and president.

Mitsuya Kishida, Sony Global Manufacturing & Operations Corp.'s representative director and president, has been named representative director and president of Sony Mobile Communications Inc.

Hiroki Chino, director and president of Sony Brasil Ltda., has been named representative director and president of Sony Global Manufacturing & Operations Corp.

The changes in management structure come after the promotion of Executive Deputy President and CFO Kenichiro Yoshida to CEO and president. Yoshida will succeed outgoing President and CEO Kazuo Hirai, who will become chairman.
