Willis Towers Watson, Aon settle lawsuits over hiring of CFO

Willis Towers Watson Plc has settled lawsuits Aon Plc brought against it over the hiring of Michael Burwell as Willis Towers Watson's CFO.

Burwell was hired from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, which had previously provided restructuring consulting services to Aon. Aon had required PriceWaterhouseCoopers to prevent its consultants and partners, such as Burwell, from working at Willis Towers Watson, its major competitor.

The settlement agreement's terms are confidential, the company said in a statement. Suits pending in federal court in Michigan and Illinois have been dismissed.
