Rakuten Marketing appoints president

Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten Inc.'s U.S. division Rakuten Marketing said Feb. 1 it has appointed Stuart Simms as president, effective immediately.

Simms, who will report to CEO Tony Zito, will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the U.S. division. He will also remain a board member of Rakuten Fits Me, a data and personalization company, where he was previously CEO.

Prior to joining Rakuten, Simms was GM for Venda Inc. and held senior leadership roles responsible for the mobile communications business of Microsoft Corp. across the Middle East and Africa.
