U.K.-based ClearBank Ltd. agreed to offer real-time payment service for Coinbase Inc.'s customers, after the partnership between the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange and Barclays PLC ended in July, Bloomberg News reported Oct. 3, citing a personal familiar with the matter.
The agreement allows Coinbase customers to make transfers almost instantly between their bank accounts and Coinbase wallets, as ClearBank is a participant in the U.K.'s faster payments system.
Since breaking with Barclays, Coinbase customers have faced delays in carrying out transfers. The crypto exchange has allowed customers to use Paypal accounts and buy digital assets with credit cards, among other options.
