Sayona applies for new lithium-prospective ground in Western Australia

Sayona Mining Ltd.said April 12 that it applied for a new application of 140 square kilometers atCooglegong, covering the northern part of the Shaw River tin field in the Pilbaradistrict of Western Australia.

The area is also reported to contain tantalum, which indicatesthe potential presence of lithium-prospective pegmatite systems; however, the areahas never been explored for lithium.

The company is exploring the project for its potential to hostthe albite-spodumene class of rare metal pegmatite and will test the large Pilbararegional project area.

Sayona now has tenement applications totaling 764 square kilometersin the Pilbara region, and 843 square kilometers in Western Australia.

In late-March, Sayona securedtwo lithium-prospective tenements in Western Australia, expanding the company'slithium tenements in the Pilgangoora district to five.
