Total U.S. nuclear plant availability returned above the 94% mark early Dec. 14 to 94.27%, up from 93.56% on Dec. 13 but still slightly lower than the 94.63% reported on the same day in 2016.
Lifting total output was increased production at two reactors. Dominion Energy Inc.'s North Anna 2 in Virginia was pegged at 97% power early Dec. 14, up from 30% on Dec. 13, and Entergy Corp.'s Grand Gulf 1 in Mississippi saw output rise from 14% on Dec. 13 to 25% early Dec. 14.
As of early Dec. 14, Ameren Corp.'s Callaway plant Missouri, Exelon Corp.'s Clinton Power Station in Illinois, Entergy's Indian Point 2 in New York and Tennessee Valley Authority's Watts Bar 2 in Tennessee remain offline.
