Northern Trust Asset Management appointed Wouter Sturkenboom as chief investment strategist for its Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.

Sturkenboom, based in the Netherlands, will be responsible for designing, implementing and communicating global investment strategy to the company's investor base. This is a newly created position.

He most recently was a senior investment strategist at Russell Investments.
