Judge recommends conditional approval for Charter M&A transactions by Calif. regulator

Chief Administrative Law Judge Karl Bemesderfer recommendedthat the California Public Utilities Commission the proposed between ,Time Warner Cable Inc.,and Bright House Networks LLC.

According to an April 12 official filing, Bemesderfer alsorecommended conditions to be set such as increasing broadband download speedsfor households in the New Charter's California service territory that arecurrently on an all-digital platform to not less than 60 Mbps; the option forall customers to buy their own modems and cable set-top-boxes without anyincrease in the price of services; and full compliance with the FCC's OpenInternet Order.

The California PUC is expected to decide on the deal by May12.
