Meta Financial names community banking president; Progress B&T names SVP

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Meta Financial Group Inc. named Kathy Thorson community banking president.

Thorson has been with the MetaBank parent for 17 years. She will continue to serve as the president of the Sioux Empire market on top of her new responsibilities.

San Diego-based Seacoast Commerce Bank hired Rachel Rowley as senior vice president and deposit relationship manager. She will be based in Chicago.

Rowley was previously a vice president, association financial partner for the Midwest for Alliance Association Bank, a division of Phoenix-based Western Alliance Bancorp.

Judith Cochrane retired from the boards of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.-based FS Bancorp Inc. and unit 1st Security Bank of Washington.

Cochrane had been on the FS Bancorp's board since the company's formation and had been on the bank's board since 2006. She is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, according to a regulatory filing.

The board has yet to decide on whether it will fill the vacancy created by Cochrane's retirement or reduce board size.

Huntsville, Ala.-based Progress Bank and Trust appointed Gabe Hulbert senior vice president and business banker.

Hulbert's previous experience includes working for Birmingham, Ala.-based Regions Bank.

Bank of New Hampshire appointed Edwin Killam senior vice president, commercial banking and team leader.

Killam has more than 40 years of experience in banking.
