Ontario-based insurance brokers merge

Ontario-based insurance brokers McDougall Insurance & Financial and Monkman Gracie Johnston Insurance have merged, effective immediately, Canadian Underwriter reported.

Monkman Insurance's 22 employees joined McDougall Insurance, according to the report. The combined entity now have 30 offices in eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley, 330 employees and more than $250 million in property casualty premium.

The news outlet reported that McDougall Insurance offers auto/car, property and home, recreational, life and financial and business/commercial insurance, while Monkman Insurance sells personal, commercial, life insurance and financial services and group insurance.
