AXA asset management CEO acknowledges sale talks, says business still strategic

AXA Investment Managers SA remains a strategic asset to France's AXA, the unit's CEO reportedly told staff.

In an email to employees, Andrea Rossi acknowledged press reports that AXA was considering options for the business, including a sale, and said the company had received approaches. He added that this was a sign of "a consolidating asset management sector," the newswire reported Oct. 12.

"I wanted to let you know that [AXA CEO] Thomas Buberl has confirmed that the group continues to view AXA Investment Managers as one of its strategic assets," Rossi said in the email.
