UGI Corp. on Sept. 5 named William Marrazzo and K. Richard Turner as board directors of the parent company and its subsidiary UGI Utilities Inc.
Marrazzo and Turner served as directors of Amerigas Propane Inc., the general partner of AmeriGas Partners LP until the closing of UGI's acquisition of AmeriGas Partners.
Marrazzo was a board director of AmeriGas Propane from 2001 until the acquisition closed. He has been the CEO and president of public television and radio company WHYY Inc. since 1997. He also served as a member of the board of American Water Works Co. Inc. from 2003 to 2016.
Turner was a board director of AmeriGas Propane since 2012. He has been a managing director of private equity firm Altos Partner since 2012. He also previously served as a member of the boards of the general partner of Energy Transfer Equity LP, Sunoco LP, Energy Transfer Partners LP, Laney Directional Drilling Co. and North American Energy Partners Inc.
Meanwhile, board Chairman Marvin Schlanger announced his intention to retire from the board at the annual meeting of shareholders in January 2021. Frank Hermance was nominated to succeed Schlanger as board chairman after the 2020 annual meeting of shareholders.
To facilitate the transition, Schlanger was nominated to serve as vice chairman of the board after the 2020 annual meeting until his retirement.
Hermance is a retired chairman and CEO of AMETEK Inc., a manufacturer of electric instruments and electromechanical devices. He has served as a director of UGI and UGI Utilities since 2011 and was a director of AmeriGas Propane from 2018 through the merger.
