Trevali reports commercial production start at Caribou zinc mine

Trevali MiningCorp. achieved commercial production at its Caribou zinc mine located in the Bathurst MiningCamp in New Brunswick, Canada, effective July 1.

The company said July 7 that it plans to start reintroducingdevelopment feed tonnage, which is expected to result in production rates of over2,700 tonnes per day.

From July 1 to Dec. 31, Caribou is expected to produce about37 million pounds to 41 million pounds of zinc, 14 million pounds to 15 millionpounds of lead, and 380,000 ounces to 420,000 ounces of silver.

Head grades are anticipated to range from 5.9% to 6.2% of zinc,2.5% to 2.7% of lead, and 65 g/t to 70 g/t of silver.
