DENSO Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, came to ¥94.03 per share, a gain of 18.7% from ¥79.22 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥74.04 billion, a gain of 17.8% from ¥62.85 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 6.5% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue came to ¥1.135 trillion, compared with ¥1.142 trillion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥1.030 trillion from ¥1.047 trillion.
Reported net income increased 19.3% from the prior-year period to ¥93.41 billion, or ¥118.63 per share, from ¥78.29 billion, or ¥98.69 per share.
