Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. said John Goetz, COO and executive vice president, will retire and resign from his position at the company, effective March 30.

The Hercules, Calif.-based company said it will search for a successor.

Goetz indicated that in case a successor is not named by March 30, he will remain available for consultation even after the end of his employment.
