Facebook CEO rejects rumors about presidential run

Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg dismissed rumors that he planned to run for president in 2020, BuzzFeed News reported Jan. 25.

While saying "no" in response to a question about his plans for presidency, Zuckerberg said he is "focused on building our community at Facebook and working on the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative."

Recent media reports suggested that Zuckerberg could be interested after citing a series of developments, including plans to visit about 30 U.S. states, a statement on the importance of religion, and the addition of a clause about potentially serving for office in his company's stock restructuring deal.
