Cowen names heads of US prime brokerage services business

Cowen Inc. has appointed Douglas Nelson and Michael DeJarnette as co-heads of its U.S. prime brokerage services business.

Nelson, a Cowen managing director, came to the company through its acquisition of Convergex Group LLC, where he previously was managing director of Convergex's execution solutions business and head of the global clearing and prime services businesses. DeJarnette, also a managing director, joined Cowen through the acquisition as well. Previously, he was executive managing director of Convergex's execution solutions business.

The company said that Kevin LoPrimo, managing director and head of international prime brokerage, will stay on in his position.
