Vista Outdoor Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 28 was $38.8 million, a rise from $37.7 million in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 6.1% from 8.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 24.2% year over year to $525.1 million from $422.8 million, and total operating expenses grew 26.0% year over year to $455.2 million from $361.4 million.
Reported net income came to $33.7 million, compared with $30.7 million in the prior-year period.
