Vancouver, British Columbia-based witnesseda 23% year-over-year increase in the silver equivalent ounces produced from itssix operating mines in Mexico during the second quarter.
Total production for the quarter reached 4.7 million silverequivalent ounces.
Silver output rose 5% to 2.8 million ounces compared to thesame quarter of 2015 and gold production jumped 364% to 16,371 ounces.
The increased production was largely due to improved gradeand recoveries at the DelToro mine and mill optimization at Santa Elena, which exceeded productionguidance after notching a new quarterly record for metallurgical recoveries ofsilver.
However, lead production for the quarter tumbled 20% yearover year to 8.8 million pounds, mainly due to lower grades at the mine, whilezinc output remained steady at 3.8 million pounds.
