US Steel goes after unfairly traded Chinese steel products in new complaint

U.S.Steel Corp. said April 26 that it has filed a complaint with the U.S.International Trade Commission against major Chinese steel producers and distributorsover alleged illegal unfair methods of competition including price fixing, theftof trade secrets and the circumvention of trade duties by false labeling.

The complaint also seeks the exclusion of all unfairlytraded Chinese steel products from the U.S. market.

"With today's filing, we continue the work wehave pursued through countervailing and antidumping cases and pushing for increasedenforcement of existing laws," U.S. Steel President and CEO Mario Longhi said.

The International Trade Commission has up to 30 daysto evaluate the petition for relief and decide whether to initiate the case.
