Ormat, Alevo join forces to develop 10-MW Texas storage project

OrmatTechnologies Inc. and Alevo Group SA are joining forces to build and operatethe 10-MW Rabbit Hill energy storage project in Georgetown, Texas, according toa March 30 release.

Under the partnership, Ormat will provide engineering,construction services and plant equipment, and will own and fund majority ofthe project. Alevo will provide its GridBank inorganic lithium ion energy storagesystem along with power conversion systems.

In addition, Alevo will be responsible for ongoingmanagement and operations and maintenance services of the project, which willconsist of three GridBank enclosures.

"While we do not expect our initial expansion into thisarea to generate material revenues for Ormat, we anticipate that collaboratingwith Alevo, with its innovative technology and global presence will allow us tomake significant progress towards our expansion in this field," CEO IsaacAngel said.
