Generali Deutschland AG has appointed Uli Rothaufe new country chief for life insurance from Jan. 1, 2019.

Rothaufe will succeed Peter Heise, who will retire Dec. 31 after 38 years at the German insurance group. Rothaufe joined Generali Deutschland in 2004 and has held various senior roles at the group, most recently head of life insurance unit Generali Lebensversicherung AG.

The German companies are units of Italy's Generali.
