Mobility service provider DKV EURO SERVICE GmbH + Co. KG and innogy SE announced plans to form a joint venture to improve and streamline billing services for electric vehicle charging stations across Europe.
Under the memorandum of understanding signed by both companies, fleet operators with electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle fleets will be able to have their employees recharge vehicles regardless of service provider, with costs billed as a single invoice, according to a March 6 news release. Retail and corporate customers also stand to benefit from the joint venture, given innogy's roughly 7,000 networked charging stations around Europe.
The joint venture still requires anti-trust authorities' approval.
"This planned joint venture allows us to offer comprehensive service solutions with transparent billing for EV fleets throughout Europe in the near future. DKV is the optimal business partner for this project. This service will make electric driving even less complicated and more convenient, which also gives the customer a sense of security," said Markus Dehn, innogy's vice president of product management in electric mobility.
