Britannia Industries fiscal Q2 profit climbs 45.1% YOY

4911482 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 10.80 Indian rupees per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 10.10 rupees per share.

EPS rose 44.9% year over year from 7.45 rupees.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.29 billion rupees, a gain of 45.1% from 892.3 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.6% from 5.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 12.4% on an annual basis to 19.55 billion rupees from 17.40 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 10.3% from the prior-year period to 17.66 billion rupees from 16.01 billion rupees.

Reported net income increased year over year to 2.70 billion rupees, or 22.55 rupees per share, from 976.4 million rupees, or 8.15 rupees per share.
