Sony PicturesTelevision Inc. acquired a majority stake in -basedchannels group Planet TV for an undisclosed amount, Digital TV Europe reportedApril 7.

The deal will enable the Sony Corp. unit to own and operate four Planet TVchannels via a joint venture with ad sales firm Satis Ofisi, Planet TV's formermajority owner.

The channels are drama-themed Planet Pembe, movie channelPlanet Turk, cooking channel Planet Mutfak and kids-oriented Planet Cocuk.

The transaction is subject to regulatory clearance.
