Global Dining Q3 profit climbs YOY

Global Dining Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income was 37 Japanese sen per share, a gain from 6 sen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.8 million, an increase from ¥625,000 in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 0.2% from 0.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 7.2% year over year to ¥2.35 billion from ¥2.53 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 9.0% on an annual basis to ¥2.34 billion from ¥2.57 billion.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥22.0 million, or a loss of ¥2.19 per share, compared to a loss of ¥7.0 million, or a loss of 70 sen per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Nov. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥122.91.
