Insurance moves: Homesite Group names CEO for business unit

Cecilia Reyes was appointed a nonexecutive director to the board of Standard Life Aberdeen PLC, effective Oct. 1.

Reyes was group chief risk officer, responsible for group risk management and the enterprise management framework, at Zurich Insurance Group AG.

Multiline

Risk Strategies named Edward Flanagan managing director and northeast regional leader.

He replaces John Scroope, who was appointed national director of retail operations.

Flanagan was most recently a producer focused on technology, life sciences, financial services and healthcare industry clients at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Property and casualty

Aon PLC made a number of appointments to its investor relations team.

Leslie Follmer was appointed senior vice president and head of investor relations, replacing Scott Malchow, who was appointed strategic adviser to the CEO. Erika Shouldice was named vice president of investor relations and chief of staff to the CFO and Adam Klauss manager of investor relations.

Previously, Follmer served as chief of staff to the CFO, while Shouldice served as senior director of investor relations.

BMS Group Ltd. named Gregg Holtmeier chief strategy officer at its U.S. reinsurance operations.

He will be based in San Francisco and will contribute to the company's expansion in North America.

Holtmeier was previously managing director for North American casualty at Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC.

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. unit Mercer LLC appointed Susan Potter chief commercial officer for the U.S. and Canada, based in Washington, D.C.

Potter most recently served as managing director and U.S. east region leader at Willis Towers Watson PLC.

Boston-based Homesite Group Inc. named Grace Meek senior vice president of Homesite Group and president and CEO of its new business unit, Homesite Underwriting Managers Inc.

Meek was previously responsible for the program and specialty business at Allied World Assurance Group.

Homesite Group is a subsidiary of American Family Insurance Group.

New York-based Hudson Insurance Group Inc. appointed Joseph Savarese to lead its wholesale casualty business unit, encompassing primary general liability and excess liability.

He will also manage the company's excess liability business and will be joined by Gerard O'Neill and Michael Dempsey, who will focus on primary general liability.

Savarese served as president of the primary casualty department at Connecticut-based Navigators Specialty Insurance Co.

Reinsurance

Sirius International Insurance Group Ltd. named Florian Boecker head of life reinsurance, an extension of its global accident and health business. He will be based in Zurich.
