Communications Sales & Leasing clears hurdles for PEG Bandwidth buy

said that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust ImprovementsAct of 1976 has expired in connection with its proposed acquisition offiber-network provider PEG Bandwidth LLC.

Thecompany said April 6 that the expiration of the waiting period satisfies one ofthe conditions of the pending deal.

The$409 million transactionis expected to close in early May.

TheFederal Communications Commission Wireline Competition Bureau and a number ofrequired state public service and utility commissions have given their approvalfor the transaction. The companies are waiting to secure theremaining regulatory approvals for the deal.
