CKR Carbon Corp. said Oct. 4 that it entered into a definitive agreement to supply graphite from the Aukam project in Namibia to an undisclosed graphite producer.
The agreement extends the previous letter of intent, signed in March, to supply up to 5,000 tonnes of graphite per year, subject to the granting of a mining license.
CKR supplied the producer with several samples of Aukam vein graphite material for testing, including a 1.6-tonne sample. The samples successfully passed preliminary testing, including testing for suitability in battery anodes.
The agreement has a 10-year term, with the producer having the option to renew for an additional 10 years.
