The European Commission said has until Oct. 31 toanswer antitrust charges regarding the pre-installation of its own appson Android-powered devices, Reuters reported Oct. 3.
The deadline extension is the fourth granted to Google, withthe most recent deadline Sept. 20.
EU antitrust regulators also extended the deadline to Oct.26 for the AlphabetInc. unit to answer charges that it rivals in its online searchadvertising service AdSense for Search. Further, Google has until Oct. 13 toexplain its side over allegations of favoringits own comparison shopping service in its search results.
If found guilty of violating EU regulations, the EC couldfine Google up to $7.4 billion for every case, according to the report.
Google is facinga separate probe in South Korea andwas recently fined inRussia over the Android-related charges.
