Business Breakthrough Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥3.37 per share, a decline of 11.9% from ¥3.83 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥47.5 million, a gain of 8.6% from ¥43.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 3.8% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 14.6% year over year to ¥1.24 billion from ¥1.08 billion, and total operating expenses increased 14.6% from the prior-year period to ¥1.16 billion from ¥1.01 billion.
Reported net income declined 17.7% year over year to ¥78.4 million, or ¥5.57 per share, from ¥95.3 million, or ¥8.33 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥17.00 per share, an increase of 9.4% from ¥15.53 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥215.0 million, a gain of 20.3% from ¥178.8 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose 18.4% year over year to ¥4.46 billion from ¥3.76 billion, and total operating expenses rose 18.1% year over year to ¥4.12 billion from ¥3.49 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 24.7% on an annual basis to ¥270.3 million, or ¥21.37 per share, in the full year, from ¥216.7 million, or ¥18.83 per share.
