Manulife increases chartered capital of Vietnam ops

ManulifeFinancial Corp. raised the chartered capital of its Vietnamoperations by 38% to 1.35 trillion dong.

The company said the increase was approved by Vietnam's Ministryof Finance and was conducted at the end of the second quarter, according to arelease recently obtained by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

In addition, Manulife plans to open 10 new offices inVietnam in 2016, adding to its network of 45 offices as of the end of 2015.

As of July 12, US$1was equivalent to 22,304 Vietnamese dong.
