Ukraine's corruption bureau withdraws case against central bank

The NationalBank of Ukraine said the country's National Anti-Corruption Bureau withdrewa legal case against the central bank's senior officers that alleged corruption.

The case was dropped on April 12.

The bureau filed the case against the central bank on Dec.16, 2015, after accusations that the bank's senior officers abused their power inorder to benefit the family of the National Bank of Ukraine governor, byinforming them about the financial condition of Delta Bank PJSC. According to aclaimant, this allowed them to withdraw about 12.5 million Ukrainian hryvnifrom their savings account with Delta Bank.

The pre-trial investigation into the case found that thedocuments produced by the claimant were false.

As of April 13, US$1 was equivalent to 25.51 Ukrainianhryvni.
