Mondelez completes sale of Kraft cheese business to Arla Foods

Mondelez International Inc. on May 30 said it completed the sale of its Kraft-branded cheese business in the Middle East and Africa region.

As previously disclosed, the maker of Cadbury chocolates and Oreo cookies sold its business unit to Danish dairy company Arla Foods for an undisclosed amount.

The deal includes all of Mondelez's Kraft-branded cheese products that are offered in the Middle East and Africa, as well as a cheese factory in Bahrain. The Philadelphia cream cheese brand and Jocca cottage cheese brand are not included in the transaction.

Mondelez added that the divestment enables the company to focus on its faster-growing snacks categories.
