Netflix sued over subscription fee hike

Netflix facing a potential class-action lawsuit over its price increases, TheHollywood Reporter reported June 30.

A customer, George Keritsis, has sued the streaming giant foralleged breach of contract after he was informed by the company that his "specialpricing" of $7.99 per month is ending and he will have to pay $9.99 a month.

Keritsis alleged that he decided to subscribe to the serviceonly after a Netflix representative confirmed a company ad that guaranteed a $7.99per month subscription fee for the life of his account.

Keritsis is seeking class certification for what he says is atleast 22 million people.
