Ausgold starts 24,000-meter drilling at Katanning gold project

Ausgold Ltd. said Feb. 7 that it began a 24,000-meter reverse circulation drilling program at the Katanning gold project in Western Australia designed to target mineralization within a 10-kilometer radius of the project's resource area.

The initial phase of drilling will test strike extensions of the Jinkas deposit and new targets generated through reinterpreting historical exploration data and the previously conducted aircore drilling and ground-based geophysics at the Jackson-Olympia, Jinkas, Lukin and Fraser targets.

Resources at the Katanning project increased 23% in August 2017 to 785,800 ounces of gold contained within 20.98 million tonnes at 1.17 g/t of gold.
