On TV
* France's TF1 Group ordered a local version of BBC One (UK)'s "Doctor Foster," with the French unit of BBC Studios to co-produce the six-episode series with Storia Télévision. Filming for the French adaptation of the mystery drama, which will be renamed "Infidéle," begins this month, the BBC said June 1.
* "Battlestar Galactica" alumnus Jamie Bamber is joining the cast of Sky PLC and HBO / Cinemax (US) spy drama "Strike Back" for its upcoming seventh season. The new 10-part series will premiere on Sky One, NOW TV and Cinemax in early 2019, according to a May 31 announcement.
* Mediaset España Comunicación SA, Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. International Television Production España and Netflix are teaming up for the Spanish cop thriller "Costa del Sol Brigade." The show follows a police unit focusing on narcotics in southern Spain in the late 70s. The series, which begins shooting this month, will be available for Netflix subscribers around the world after its broadcast on Telecinco (ES), Variety reported May 28.
* ITV PLC said May 26 that it renewed "Ninja Warrior UK" for a fifth season. Filming begins later this year, with the obstacle course game show to air in 2019.
* Richard Gere will play a self-made media mogul in the upcoming BBC Two (UK) drama "MotherFatherSon." The eight-part original series will also star Helen McCrory and Billy Howle. Filming begins this month, according to a May 23 announcement.

* CBS Corp.'s CBS Studios International inked a multiyear content licensing agreement with Japanese streaming platform U-Next, Digital TV Europe reported June 4. Under the agreement, U-Next subscribers will have access to more than 1,300 episodes of current and past programming from CBS Television Studios, including the "NCIS" franchise, "Hawaii Five-0," "The Good Wife" and "Reign."
* Danish original series "The Rain" will return to Netflix Inc. for a second season in 2019. The series will go back into production later this year, the company said May 30.
* Uma Thurman is set to star in a new supernatural drama for Netflix. Titled "Chambers," the one-hour series has an initial order for 10 episodes. Thurman plays Nancy, a mother of a heart donor who forges a hesitant relationship with the recipient of the heart, according to a May 29 news release.
* Following its cancellation by NBCUniversal Media LLC's Syfy (US), "The Expanse" has been picked up by Amazon.com Inc. for a fourth season. The sci-fi show is based on the novel series by James S.A. Corey, which counts Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos as a fan, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Amazon Studios had international streaming rights to the first three seasons of the space drama.
* Netflix said May 24 that it will have rights outside of Canada for "Northern Rescue," a CBC and Netflix original production. The 10-episode family drama follows John West as he moves his three children away from a hectic urban life to his small northern hometown after the death of his wife.
* Amazon greenlit an original docuseries about money from Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Adam Davidson. The untitled documentary series, hosted by Kal Penn, will provide insight into the global economy and its comedic eccentricities, Deadline reported May 22.
