Swift CEO to step down at end of June 2019

Gottfried Leibbrandt, the CEO of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication SCRL, or Swift, informed the cross-border payments platform's board of his intention to step down at the end of June 2019.

Leibbrandt has worked with Swift since 2005, and was appointed CEO in July 2012.

Swift noted Leibbrandt will serve a six-month notice period to ensure an orderly succession while the payments platform carries out a search for his replacement, both internally and externally.
