Edenville Energy Plc entered a coal off-take agreement with Riftcot Ltd. for up to 75% of its annual production from the Rukwa coal project in Tanzania.
Edenville expects monthly production of at least 10,000 tonnes of coal once the operations are up to full production, expected in January 2018.
Riftcot, a supplier of coal to the East Africa market, will purchase the coal at a commercial market price, with the agreement valid for an initial five-year term starting October.
The agreement only covers commercial production and external sales from the Rukwa project and does not include the supply of any coal to the planned mine mouth power plant at Rukwa.
Edenville started to produce washed coal at its Rukwa project earlier in October.
