Endeavour Mining reports jump in contained gold at Lafigué after resource update

Endeavour Mining Corp. on Sept. 3 reported 141% growth in gold contained within the indicated resource at the Lafigué deposit within its Fetekro property in Cote d'Ivoire, compared to the maiden estimate announced in October 2018.

Lafigué is now estimated to hold 1.19 million ounces of gold within 14.6 Mt at 2.54 g/t in the indicated category and 60,000 ounces within some 900,000 tonnes grading 2.17 g/t in the inferred category. Some 35,000 meters of drilling at the deposit since the maiden estimate classified 95% of the total as indicated resources. The new resource also compares favorably with the maiden projection in terms of gold grade, which improved 13%.

The company believes Lafigué is amenable to open pit mining as mineralization starts at the surface, with the mineralized area 2.2 kilometers long and roughly 600 meters wide, remaining open at depth and towards the southeast.

Endeavour Mining is planning at least 30,000 meters of additional drilling in the fourth quarter, while the next resource update slated for the second quarter of 2020.

Preliminary metallurgical tests indicate gold recovery rates of over 95% at Lafigué.

The company's second-quarter gold output rose to 171,000 ounces from 147,000 ounces a year earlier, with full-year production pegged at 615,000 to 695,000 ounces.
