Former FIG Partners LLC equity research analyst David Bishop has moved to D.A. Davidson & Co., according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. records.
A media contact for D.A. Davidson declined to comment, and Gil Luria, director of institutional research at D.A. Davidson, did not return a call seeking comment. FINRA records show that Bishop, who covered depositories at FIG Partners, has been registered with D.A. Davidson since May 28.
Bishop departed FIG Partners around the time the company announced its sale to Janney Montgomery Scott LLC. Several other former members of the equity research, sales and trading team at FIG Partners were also expected to join D.A. Davidson. Among them is Kevin Fitzsimmons, former deputy director of research at FIG Partners.
Fitzsimmons is also registered with D.A. Davidson, according to FINRA records. Bishop and Fitzsimmons would bring D.A. Davidson's number of senior analysts covering depositories to six.
Bishop joined FIG Partners, which focuses on community banks, in 2015, and his bio on FIG Partners' website noted that he covered banks in the Northeast. Before FIG Partners, Bishop was with Drexel Hamilton LLC where he covered banks in the Northeast and along the Gulf Coast. Earlier in his career, Bishop covered commercial banks at MLV & Co. LLC, and he covered banks in the Southeast and Southwest as a senior equity analyst for Stifel Nicolaus & Co. Inc.
