Centerra Gold Inc. received all the necessary permits and approvals for its 2017 mine plan for the Kumtor gold project in Kyrgyzstan.
"With these permits Kumtor has the necessary permits and approvals in place for mining operations throughout 2017," the company said on Dec. 29.
Earlier in December, Centerra Gold suspended its third-quarter and future quarterly dividends due to the financial restrictions imposed by Kyrgyzstan on funds held at its key subsidiary, Kumtor Gold Co. CJSC, the operator of the Kumtor gold mine.
A Kyrgyz court ruling in June restricted Kumtor from making certain financial transactions, including the transfer of money to parent Centerra.
