Santander Brasil shareholders approve chairman, vice chairman appointments

Banco Santander (Brasil) SA's shareholders have approved the appointments of Álvaro Antônio Cardoso de Souza as board chairman and Sérgio Agapito Lires Rial as vice chairman.

Both appointments are effective Dec. 31 for a complementary term until the bank's ordinary shareholders' meeting in 2017, according to a Form 6-K filed Dec. 28.

Lires Rial also serves as the company's CEO.

Jesús Maria Zabalza Lotina will step down as Santander (Brasil)'s vice chairman at the end of the year.
