India's Future Retail Ltd. on June 1 completed its acquisition of Foodworld Supermarkets Private Ltd.'s retail business Foodworld, which was first announced May 21.
According to a Bombay Stock Exchange filing, Future Retail purchased the supermarket chain for 407.9 million rupees through a business transfer agreement. The acquisition was paid in cash.
The unit's net worth as of March 31 was 80 million rupees, while its turnover for fiscal year 2017 to 2018 was 1.19 billion rupees, according to the filing.
As of May 31, US$1 was equivalent to 67.45 rupees.
