Enel Américas SA said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to $124.1 million, an increase of 109.6% from $59.2 million in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin rose to 6.8% from 3.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 31.9% on an annual basis to $2.26 billion from $1.72 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 43.3% year over year to $1.77 billion from $1.23 billion.
Reported net income declined 16.7% on an annual basis to $73.5 million, or 0 cents per share, from $88.2 million, or 0 cents per share.
