Amorepacific profit misses consensus by 26.8% in Q2

Amorepacific Corp. said its second-quarter normalized net income was 1,905.60 South Korean won per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 2,602.17 won per share.

EPS climbed 47.1% year over year from 1,295.10 won.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 131.46 billion won, a gain of 47.2% from 89.33 billion won in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.0% from 9.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 23.7% year over year to 1.195 trillion won from 966.71 billion won, and total operating expenses rose 21.1% from the prior-year period to 987.31 billion won from 815.62 billion won.

Reported net income rose 44.4% on an annual basis to 160.04 billion won, or 2,320.00 won per share, from 110.84 billion won, or 1,606.95 won per share.

As of Aug. 17, US$1 was equivalent to 1,183.06 South Korean won.
