National Grid PLC named Earl Shipp as nonexecutive director of the board, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

He will join the safety, environment and health committee, remuneration committee and nominations committee of the company.

Shipp worked with The Dow Chemical Co. for 38 years until his retirement in October 2017. Most recently, he was responsible for over a third of Dow Chemical's global asset base and U.S. Gulf Coast operations, according to a news release.
