Report: Qatar National Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank raise combined $1.3B in bonds

Qatar National Bank (QPSC) and Qatar Islamic Bank (QPSC) raised a combined $1.3 billion in private bond offerings, Reuters reported Oct. 11, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Qatar National Bank raised $1 billion, split in 10 separate issues worth $100 million each, at September-end. Qatar Islamic Bank raised $300 million in early October.

Some investors were reportedly based in Asia, and in the case of Qatar Islamic Bank's issuance a significant chunk of the investors were from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Standard Chartered arranged both the banks' issuances, the newswire noted.
