Mako Gold Ltd. kicked off a maiden drilling program at its 299-square-kilometer Napié gold project in Cote d'Ivoire, it said May 14.
About 5,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling and 500 meters of diamond drilling is expected to be completed by late July.
The company's exploration team selected nine priority targets for drill testing. The maiden drilling is the first phase of a planned 11,500-meter reverse circulation and diamond drilling program.
Additionally, Mako expects to start drilling at its Tangora project in Burkina Faso in a few weeks, after starting drilling at Napié.
Mako Gold started trading on the ASX under the ticker MKG on April 16 after raising A$6 million in an oversubscribed IPO.
